The best time to post on TikTok
The best time to post on TikTok is when your own followers are active, which the analytics in TikTok Studio show you. As a starting point, Sprout Social's 2026 data favors Tuesday to Thursday, 2 to 6 p.m. local time. Buffer's 2026 study of 7.1 million posts found Sunday at 9 a.m. best.
- Sprout Social, 2026: Tuesday to Thursday, 2 to 6 p.m.; Sunday the weakest day
- Buffer, 2026 (7.1 million posts): Sunday 9 a.m., Monday 1 p.m., Sunday 1 p.m.
- Buffer, 2025 (11.4 million posts): 2 to 5 posts a week, up to 17% more views per post than one

What is the best time to post on TikTok in 2026?
Two large studies from 2026 give almost opposite answers. Both report local time, so the hours below mean the clock where your viewers live.
| Study | What it looked at | Best times (local) |
|---|---|---|
| Sprout Social, March 2026 | About 2 billion engagements across 307,000 profiles, November 2025 to February 2026 | Tuesday to Thursday, 2 to 6 p.m. |
| Buffer, September 2026 | 7.1 million TikTok posts, by median engagement rate | Sunday 9 a.m., Monday 1 p.m., Sunday 1 p.m. |
Sprout Social breaks its answer down by day: Tuesday 2 to 6 p.m., Wednesday 1 to 8 p.m., Thursday 1 to 5 p.m. Buffer sees the opposite shape. In its data, engagement peaks in the evening, 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Afternoons from noon to 5 p.m. tend to be weaker on most days.
When two studies this large disagree, the honest reading is that there is no universal best hour on TikTok. Each study averages a different mix of accounts, niches and countries. Your audience is one slice of that mix.
What is the best day to post on TikTok?
The studies disagree on days too, and most sharply on Sunday.
- Sprout Social, 2026: the best days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and Sunday is the worst day of the week to publish.
- Buffer, 2026: Saturday is the top day for engagement, with Monday and Sunday close behind.
If you have no data of your own yet, test both shapes. Post midweek afternoons for two weeks, then weekend mornings for two weeks, and compare. That small test can tell you more about your audience than either study.
How to find your followers' active hours in TikTok Studio
TikTok's own analytics show when your followers are on the app. They live in TikTok Studio, which TikTok describes as the place to manage content, schedule posts and view analytics.
- In the TikTok app, tap Profile, then the Menu button at the top, then TikTok Studio. It also opens in a web browser.
- Open Analytics.
- Go to the Followers tab.
- Find the follower activity chart: when your followers were most active, by hour and by day of the week.
Labels change between app versions, so a step may look slightly different on your phone. Check which clock the chart's hours are in before you plan around it.
Pick the two or three hours that peak on most days and post shortly before them. That way a new video is waiting when your followers open the app. If weekdays and weekends peak at different hours, set one slot for each rather than a single hour for the whole week.
Then read your own videos. Note the hour each one went up and how its first day went. After a few weeks, the hours that keep winning are your best times to post on TikTok.
Does the time zone matter on TikTok?
Yes. Both studies give local time: your viewers' clock, not yours. If most of them live in one country, post by its clock.
- If your viewers are split across regions far apart, choose the region that matters most, or run a separate account for each.
- For a new account with few followers, post when your target country is awake. Switch to follower activity once there is data.

How often should you post on TikTok?
Buffer's 2025 frequency study covered 11.4 million TikTok posts from more than 150,000 accounts. It compared each posting rate with posting once a week.
| Posts a week | Views per post, against one a week |
|---|---|
| 2 to 5 | Up to 17% more |
| 6 to 10 | Up to 29% more |
| 11 or more | Up to 34% more |
The biggest step is from one post a week to 2 to 5, which is why Buffer advises 2 to 5. Its explanation is about chances, not a reward for volume: the more you post, the more chances one post has to break out. More on that in how to go viral on TikTok.
Does consistency matter more than the perfect posting time?
No study we found tests the two against each other. Buffer's 2026 TikTok guide does say that posting consistently matters more than posting every single day.
Buffer's 2025 consistency study, across 10 networks, puts a number on the habit. Its most consistent posters got 5 times more engagement per post than the least consistent.
So pick two or three good hours from your follower activity and keep to them week after week. Change one thing at a time: if you move the hour and the hook in the same week, you cannot tell which one helped. TikTok Studio can schedule posts; the steps are in how to schedule TikTok posts.
Posting at your audience's hours on every account
Hitting the right hour on one account takes a reminder. Doing it every day on ten accounts, each with its own niche and time zone, takes a system. That is what Tiktok Farm builds.
Our phone farms are real iPhones, each running the official apps with one account per phone. The Farm Software gives every account a posting calendar. Each one posts your own videos at its audience's hours, every day, on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube. For Instagram's hours, see the best time to post on Instagram.
It buys no views, likes or followers, and no schedule promises reach. TikTok can limit or remove any account, and its rules apply to every post, however it is scheduled.
What is the best time to post on TikTok today?
It depends on the day and on your audience. Sprout Social's 2026 windows are Tuesday 2 to 6 p.m., Wednesday 1 to 8 p.m. and Thursday 1 to 5 p.m. Buffer's 2026 top slots are Sunday 9 a.m. and Monday 1 p.m. Your follower activity chart in TikTok Studio is the better guide.
What is the worst day to post on TikTok?
Sprout Social's 2026 data found Sunday the worst day to publish. Buffer's 2026 study disagrees and ranks Sunday among the strongest days, so test it on your own account.
How many times a week should you post on TikTok?
Buffer's 2025 study of 11.4 million posts recommends 2 to 5 posts a week. That gave up to 17% more views per post than posting once. Posting more added views too, with smaller gains each step.
Where do I see when my TikTok followers are active?
Open TikTok Studio from the menu on your profile, go to Analytics, then the Followers tab. The follower activity chart shows the hours and days your followers were most active. Labels can change between app versions.
Should I post on TikTok at the same time every day?
Not necessarily every day. Buffer's 2026 TikTok guide says posting consistently matters more than posting every single day. Its 2025 consistency study found the most consistent posters got 5 times more engagement per post than the least consistent.
