TikTok Creator Rewards Program, explained

The short version

The TikTok Creator Rewards Program pays for original videos of at least one minute, based on their qualified views from the For You feed. To join, you need a personal account, age 18 (19 in South Korea), 10,000 followers and 100,000 views in the last 30 days. The rate per view is not fixed: it varies with originality, watch time, search value and engagement.

  • Each video needs at least 1,000 qualified views from the For You feed before it earns.
  • A qualified view is a unique viewer watching for at least 5 seconds; paid and artificial views do not count.
  • Duets, Stitches, Photo Mode posts, sponsored videos and unoriginal content earn nothing.

What is the TikTok Creator Rewards Program?

The Creator Rewards Program is how TikTok pays creators for the videos themselves, rather than for a brand deal or a gift. TikTok introduced it in March 2024 to replace the Creativity Program Beta, which had followed the original Creator Fund.

Rewards come from two numbers: a video's qualified views, and its rate per 1,000 qualified views, shown as RPM.

It is one of several ways to earn on the app, and the one with the clearest rules. The others are covered in how to make money on TikTok.

Who is eligible for the TikTok Creator Rewards Program?

TikTok sets the bar per account. You need all of these when you apply:

  • Age: 18 or older (19 in South Korea).
  • Country: based in a country where the program is available.
  • Account type: a personal account. Business accounts and accounts of political or government organizations are not eligible.
  • Followers: at least 10,000.
  • Views: at least 100,000 video views in the last 30 days.
  • Standing: an account in good standing with TikTok's rules.

The list of countries is short and changes over time. Metricool lists the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Japan, South Korea and Brazil. The program's page in TikTok Studio is the final word: if it is not offered there, it is not open to you yet.

Those numbers make it a program for established accounts. A new account earns nothing here until it has an audience, which is why getting more views on TikTok comes first.

What counts as a qualified view on TikTok?

Not every view pays. Only qualified views count, and a video needs at least 1,000 of them from the For You feed before it earns.

A view counts when:

  • it comes from the For You feed;
  • the viewer watches for at least 5 seconds;
  • it is unique: repeat views from the same account count once;
  • it is genuine: fraudulent or artificial views, ads, paid promotions and sponsored content are left out.

So bought views add nothing here: TikTok leaves artificial views out of the count.

How much does the Creator Rewards Program pay?

TikTok does not publish a fixed rate per view. Your RPM depends on how each video scores on the four factors TikTok named when it launched the program:

  • Originality: quality content that is unique to you and shows your point of view.
  • Play duration: watch time and how many viewers finish the video.
  • Search value: how well the video matches what people search for on TikTok.
  • Audience engagement: likes, comments and shares.

So two creators with the same views can earn different amounts, and so can two videos on one account. Rates quoted online are estimates; your own dashboard is the only number to plan with.

Search value is the factor you can plan for. TikTok's Creator Search Insights tool shows which topics people search for, so you can make videos that answer them.

How to join the Creator Rewards Program

Once your account meets the bar, you apply in the app. TikTok moves its menus, so the path may differ in your version:

  1. Tap Profile at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Tap the Menu button at the top, then TikTok Studio.
  3. Tap Creator Rewards Program.
  4. If you are eligible, apply and accept the program's terms.

If you are not eligible yet, keep posting and check again once your followers and 30 day views are over the bar.

After you join, the program's dashboard shows your qualified views, RPM and estimated rewards. Check payout timing and any withdrawal minimum there, rather than trusting a figure quoted online.

Why are my videos not eligible for Creator Rewards?

Most videos that earn nothing fail one of these checks:

  • Too short: under one minute.
  • Too few qualified views: under 1,000 from the For You feed.
  • The wrong format: Duets, Stitches, Photo Mode posts, looping videos, and videos with only text overlays.
  • Paid or sponsored: ads, paid promotions and sponsored content are excluded.
  • Unoriginal: copied from others (even with their watermark), or changed only slightly, such as sped up or with filters, text or stickers added.
  • Compilations: other people's clips put together without new and personal ideas.
  • Lip syncs and music: lip syncs, or copyrighted music that plays for over one minute.
  • The account: a business account, or one that is not in good standing.

Originality is the check that catches reposted clips. TikTok asks whether a video adds new and personal ideas: the test any clipping agency must pass on TikTok.

Creator Rewards on more than one account

TikTok checks eligibility per account and originality per video. Each account has to reach 10,000 followers and 100,000 views in 30 days on its own. One video on five accounts splits one audience five ways, so give each account its own niche and its own videos. Read can you have multiple TikTok accounts for what TikTok's rules allow.

Keeping several accounts posting every day is the work Tiktok Farm is built for. It runs real iPhones, each with the official TikTok app and one account, posting your own videos on a schedule. It buys no views and fakes no engagement, so every qualified view still comes from a real viewer. Reaching the bar is not promised, and TikTok can limit or remove any account.

Questions

How much does TikTok pay per 1,000 views in the Creator Rewards Program?

There is no fixed rate. Your RPM, the rate per 1,000 qualified views, depends on originality, play duration, search value and audience engagement. The program's dashboard shows yours.

Is the Creator Rewards Program the same as the TikTok Creator Fund?

No. TikTok introduced it in March 2024 to replace the Creativity Program Beta, which followed the Creator Fund. It pays only for original videos at least one minute long.

Can a business account join the TikTok Creator Rewards Program?

No. Only personal accounts are eligible. Business accounts and accounts of political or government organizations cannot join.

Do Duets and Stitches earn Creator Rewards?

No. Duets, Stitches, Photo Mode posts and sponsored content are excluded, as are videos copied from others or changed only slightly.

Do I need 10,000 followers and 100,000 views at the same time?

Yes. Your account needs at least 10,000 followers and at least 100,000 video views in the last 30 days. It must also meet the age, country and account type rules.
